Recommendations

Mallory got involved in the sport of open water swimming during a time when it was considered an obscure subsect of the sport of swimming.  Today, open water swimming is experiencing a sort of re-birth, and is now considered (as it should be) a sport all of its own.  Mallory is committed to supporting athletes interested in the sport with the information necessary to developing the skills and conditioning needed.

These training recommendations are the result of Mallory’s ten years of experience  in swims ranging in distance from 1/2 mile to 28.5 miles. The information is designed to be useful to swimmers and triathletes of all goal sets and abilities.  By no means are the recommendations contained within meant to be revered as the “only” way to do things.  While Mallory encourages each and every athlete to take these recommendations into consideration, she also believes the most effective open water education results from experience and experimentation.
